About

In Oregon, leadership for the development of 2-1-1 was assumed by the OR211 Coalition, a broad-based, statewide collaboration of providers of information and referral services, agencies of state government, community action programs and United Ways. Working together since 2000, OR211 is committed to bringing this critical resource to the state. In 2004, the group incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Oregon. It has applied for its 501(c)(3) status from the IRS.

OR211 will capitalize on the continuing development of 211info, which began providing 2-1-1 access to the four-county region around Portland in 2004, as a core component of our statewide system. By working in close collaboration with WIN211, the statewide coalition legislatively responsible for the development of 2-1-1 in Washington, and with 211 Idaho Careline, we will be able to leverage scarce resources to ensure coverage for all people in the region - where they work, where they live, and where they seek the services they need.
